This recipe makes for sweet and soft dinner rolls, they are light to the mouth, soft and rolling it up in butter gives a delicate touch to it.
You will be amazed by how easy it is to bring this together as I nailed this on my first attempt with no complications whatsoever.
The dough can also be used to make delicious cinnamon rolls or that to die for hotdog bun.
INGREDIENTS.
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
1/4 cup softened butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
31/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup softened butter
DIRECTIONS.
I started of as with all my dough recipes by activating my yeast.
This we achieve by mixing two tablespoons of sugar with our warm water,in my sugar water I proceeded to mix in my yeast, stir well.
Have this rest up in a warm place for about 8 minutes to allow for our yeast to feed on the sugars.after 8 minutes our yeast should have been fully activated.
Pour in our milk, sugar, salt, butter and egg into our activated yeast.mix it up well.
I then added in flour one cup at a time.
Pour this down on a floured surface and knead for close to 8 minutes.
Place our kneaded dough into a greased bowl,I used a cling foil.cover this up(cling foil works for me) and place this In a warm place allowing it to raise for an hour.
After an hour the dough should have doubled up in size.
Puch this down and pour this up on a floured surface, proceed to knead this for a further 4 minutes.
Your dough should be smooth and consistent, not too sticky and not too hard also.
Cut this up into two equal parts forming round balls of equal proportions.
I rolled this up into a circle and proceeded to roll it down making a round circle, just as you would do to pizza or chapati dough.
Apply butter over the surface of the dough.
Cut this up into 8 equal parts.
Roll the piece from the outer side working inwards.Be sure to use up some force to seal in the folds well.
Place this up in an ungreased baking tray,be sure to have the pointed side facing down.
Have this places in a preheated heated oven an 200℃ for 10 to 15 minutes until well browned.
Take your dinner rolls out and have them cool on a wire rack.
And there you go,your delicious, sweet, soft and fluffy dinner rolls, you will love the smell in your house when making this rolls and they are perfect with soup,or even that morning breakfast.
This recipe makes for 16 dinner rolls.
