Peri Peri is a spicy, savoury and tangy chilli barbecue sauce from Portugal but popularized around the world by the South African franchise ‘Nando’s’.
Peri Peri goes well as a chicken or pork marinade and is most flavourful when grilled over an open fire.
I make Peri Peri sauce beforehand hand store it in the refrigerator for when I need it,this saves me time and cleanup time when preparing your meal.Home made Peri Peri Sauce sauce is also healthier, devoid of any preservatives or artificial flavourings as you have control on what goes into your food.
Chicken breasts are notorious for being dry and bland, this to me is a blessing in disguise as they are best when it comes to absorbing flavours.Marinating them in the spicy Home Made Peri Peri Sauce makes them tender, moist and bursting with flavour.
Versatile it is in that it can be served as a meal on it’s own with sides of your liking.I went with grilled corn as I find that that the sweetness of the corn marries well with the spicy kick from the chicken, this will also go down well with a side of baked potatoes, fries and can can be served cold in your favorite salads.
