This here is a twist to your normal wings introducing the spicy garlicky flavours of the sriracha and the sweet natural flavours from honey.
I have grown to love sriracha and nowadays I can have it on anything,if you haven’t tried it out yet, please do so and thank me later.
This is a simple recipe that transforms your simple wings into delicious sticky, hot and spicy finger licking goodness.
This can be served as appetisers but I love life and I usually have wings as my main.Make a ton of this paired with a side and salad of choice. This are perfect as snacks over some rugby or football on TV.
I love the simplicity that goes into preparing this meal, the wings are marinated in a fragrant marinade, baked in the oven and glazed with sweet and spicy goodness in honey and sriracha.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2kg chicken wings
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes(optional)
- Salt&pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Wash clean and pat dry your wings
Separate the drums from the flats discarding the tips
In a mixing bowl, add in the wings and all the marinade ingredients in salt, pepper, minced garlic&ginger, olive oil and soy sauce.Mix well until all the wings are coated with the marinade
Marinate for 30 minutes or overnight in your refrigerator for maximum flavours. When ready to bake, arrange your wings inside a baking tray lined with greased aluminum foil.Make sure there is even spacing between the wings and they are not touching
Bake this inside your preheated oven at 200β for 30 minutes flipping halfway through the cooking time.
As the wings are baking, bring together your honey sriracha glaze
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
mix the honey and the sriracha until well combined
When your wings are done take them out off the oven
In a large bowl mix well your sriracha honey glaze with the baked wings and toss well to evenly coat
Space them out on a rack and back into the oven they go for 8 to 10 minutes being careful not to burn them take them out of the oven
Serve hot or chilled down as an appetizers
Enjoy.
Your cutlery, the neatness, aesthetics of the photo, arrangement…. yawa. And to think I am only seeing this for the first time…. exquisite
